Flood Donation Drop-off

Thomas Health System is deploying eight of our medical professionals and doctors to the Lizmore Fire Station tomorrow & and Big Otter Fire Station on Thursday (9:30am-3:30pm) to administer the tetanus vaccine to those first responders, volunteers and those affected by the flood. Clay County is underserved and is in dire need of help so let’s pull together and assist those who need it most! We know this is short notice but our fellow West Virginians need our help! If you would like to donate items, please bring them to the Thomas Memorial Chapel by 7:30am tomorrow and/or the Saint Francis First Registration (main desk) tomorrow by 7:00am. Items needed:
Batteries
Flashlights
Packages socks and underwear (ladies and men)
Feminine hygiene products
Coloring books and crayons (for the kiddos)
Sunscreen
Bug spray
Dog & cat food
Diapers (children & adult sizes)

Herbert J. Thomas Jr. Hall of Honor

Herbert J. Thomas Memorial Marine Corps League Detachment #947, Thomas Memorial Hospital Administration, and Hershel "Woody" Williams, a distinguished West Virginia Native and last surviving World War II Medal of Honor recipient, dedicated the Herbert J. Thomas Jr. Hall of Honor this past winter in the Thomas Memorial Hospital Clinical Pavilion. Herbert J. Thomas Jr., a South Charleston native and World War II Medal of Honor recipient, was a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps and awarded the Medal of Honor posthumously for his heroic actions during World War II in Bougainville, Solomon Islands. The Medal of Honor is the highest award for valor in action against an enemy force which can be bestowed upon an individual serving in the Armed Services of the United States. Thomas memorial Hospitaland the Herbet J. Thomas Memorial Marine Corps League Detachment are both named in his honor. We invite you to come and visit this spectacular display of memorabilia.
